A wholesale distribution center is a multifunctional infrastructural trade and logistics complex consisting of warehouses, pavilions and (or) other premises with special equipment designed for appropriate storage and (or) execution of procurement, preparatory, distribution and (or) other operations with food products, the share of which is at least sixty percent of the total the general range of goods, and non-food products, the list of which is determined by the requirements for wholesale distribution centers, for their subsequent wholesale and (or) retail trade in the domestic and (or) foreign markets.

Wholesale distribution centers provide a range of services or, depending on the technological specialization and type of services provided, can be divided into:

1) a wholesale and distribution storage center is a real estate object intended for storing and performing procurement, preparatory, distribution and (or) other operations with food products, mainly located near the places of production of fruit and vegetable products and crop production and providing services for acceptance, storage and distribution to Kazakhstani agricultural producers, participants in foreign trade and subjects of domestic trade. primary processing (cleaning, calibration, sorting, packaging and other services) of agricultural products for subsequent sale on domestic and foreign markets;

2) a wholesale distribution center is a real estate facility designed for the storage and distribution of food and non-food products to sales facilities and the provision of logistics services for the temporary storage and reloading (transshipment) of goods for the needs of retail facilities;

3) a wholesale and distribution trade center is a real estate object that provides participants in foreign trade and (or) subjects of domestic trade with unhindered access to retail space, storage facilities and other premises within the infrastructural trade and logistics complex for the period of trading activities.

This Law regulates public relations in the sphere of trade activity, establishes the principles and organizational bases of its state regulation.
