Article 34-1. The parliamentary majority and the parliamentary opposition to the Constitutional Law on the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Status of its Deputies

     1. Parliamentary majority is the political party that has received the largest number of parliamentary mandates in the Mazhilis of Parliament.

     2. The parliamentary opposition is a political party or political parties represented in the Mazhilis of Parliament and not included in the parliamentary majority, speaking, as a rule, with a position other than the parliamentary majority on socio-economic and (or) socio-political issues.

     The parliamentary opposition may support the party of the parliamentary majority on certain issues.

     3. The parliamentary opposition has the right to initiate parliamentary hearings in accordance with paragraph 4 of Article 12 of this Constitutional Law, as well as to determine the agenda of the government hour at least twice during one session in accordance with the procedure provided for by the Rules of Procedure of the Mazhilis of Parliament.

     This Constitutional Law, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, defines the organization and activities of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the legal status of its deputies.
