Article 6. Restrictions related to the activities of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan of the Constitutional Law on the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan

Article 6. Restrictions related to the activities of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan of the Constitutional Law on the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan

     The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan is not entitled to::

     1) engage in political activity;

     2) be a deputy of a representative body;

     3) engage in other paid activities other than teaching, scientific and other creative activities;

     4) engage in entrepreneurial activity;

     5) participate in the management of a commercial organization, regardless of its organizational and legal form;

     6) to carry out official duties in the presence of a conflict of interests;

     7) to use for non-official purposes the means of material, technical, financial and informational support of his official activities, other state property and official information;

     8) to use the services of citizens and legal entities for personal purposes;

     9) participate in actions that impede the functioning of government agencies and the performance of official duties, including strikes.

     For the period of exercising his powers, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan shall terminate his membership in a political party or a trade union.

     If the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan is a member of a political party or a trade union at the time of his election, he must terminate his membership in them within ten days from the date of his appointment.

     This Constitutional Law defines the legal status and organization of the activities of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
