Article 7. Environmental quality of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. The quality of the environment is understood as a set of properties and characteristics of the environment, which are determined on the basis of physical, chemical, biological and other indicators reflecting the state of its components in their interaction.
2. The environment is considered favorable for human life and health if its quality ensures ecological safety and the natural balance of the natural environment, including the sustainable functioning of ecological systems, natural and man-made objects and natural complexes, as well as the conservation of biodiversity.
