Article 8. Competence of other State bodies in the field of combating human trafficking of the Law on Combating Human Trafficking
1. Other state bodies that carry out counteraction to human trafficking within their competence:
1) take measures to prevent human trafficking;
2) participate in the assessment of risks in the field of combating human trafficking and in making proposals to minimize them in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
3) participate in redirecting victims of human trafficking to provide them with assistance and special social services in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
4) inform the internal affairs bodies about the facts of upcoming or committed crimes related to human trafficking that have become known to them.;
5) inform the public about the results of activities in the field of combating human trafficking;
6) exercise other powers provided for by this Law, other laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. In addition to the competencies provided for in paragraph 1 of this article:
1) The Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan within its competence:
assists law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan in protecting citizens and complying with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of population migration in the border area;
Together with other government agencies and organizations, participates in measures to prevent human trafficking.;
2) the authorized body in the field of healthcare within its competence:
coordinates the work on providing victims of human trafficking with a guaranteed amount of free medical care according to the list of medical services determined by the authorized body in the field of healthcare;
Together with other government agencies and organizations, participates in measures to prevent human trafficking.;
3) the authorized body in the field of education within its competence:
forms, within the framework of the educational process, the knowledge, skills and abilities of students and pupils of educational organizations on the prevention of human trafficking;
Together with other government agencies and organizations, participates in measures to prevent human trafficking.;
4) the authorized body in the field of foreign policy within its competence:
ensures the implementation of the foreign policy course of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of international cooperation in the field of combating human trafficking;
ensures the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who have become victims of human trafficking abroad;
Takes measures to provide relevant documents and return to the Republic of Kazakhstan citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including minors, refugees recognized by the Republic of Kazakhstan, and stateless persons permanently residing in the Republic of Kazakhstan who have become victims of human trafficking abroad;
5) the central executive body performing the functions of state administration in the field of tourism activities, within the limits of its competence, together with other state bodies and organizations, participates in measures to prevent human trafficking.;
6) the authorized body in the field of mass media within its competence:
promotes legal advocacy in the field of combating human trafficking in the mass media;
promotes media coverage of the activities of entities involved in combating human trafficking.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 5, 2024 No. 110-VIII SAM.
This Law defines the organizational and legal framework for combating human trafficking.
