Article 82. Age limit for law enforcement service The Law on Law Enforcement Service
1. They can serve in law enforcement agencies up to the following age limit:
1) up to and including major, junior adviser – forty-eight years;
2) lieutenant colonels, advisers – fifty years;
3) Colonels, senior advisers – fifty-five years;
4) persons of senior management – sixty years old.
1-1. Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 07/11/2022 No. 136-VII (effective sixty calendar days after the date of its first official publication).
2. Employees who have high professional training, work experience in their position and are fit for service for health reasons, with their consent, the service period is extended from one to five years by the head of a law enforcement agency or an authorized head who has been granted the right to be appointed to positions.
In exceptional cases, by decision of the head of a law enforcement agency or an authorized head who has the right to appoint to relevant positions, this period may be extended repeatedly to employees from one to five years in the same manner, and to individual employees with academic degrees or titles from five to ten years.
The decision to extend the term of service does not exclude the possibility of dismissal of an employee from law enforcement agencies on the grounds provided for by this Law.
The extension of the service life of employees is carried out no more than twice during the entire period of service in law enforcement agencies.
3. An employee of the Prosecutor's office who has reached the age limit for service and is fit for health reasons to serve, may, by decision of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan or an authorized head, continue his service until reaching the retirement age established by the Social Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the same time, the decision to extend the term of service until reaching retirement age does not exclude the possibility of dismissal of an employee from the prosecutor's office on the grounds provided for by this Law.

This Law regulates public relations related to admission to the law enforcement service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its passage and termination, and also defines the legal status (status), financial support and social protection of law enforcement officers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
