Article 85. Zones of engineering and transport infrastructure of the Building Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. Zones of engineering and transport infrastructure of a locality are intended for the placement and functioning of communications and facilities for transport and communications, main pipelines, engineering support networks, engineering equipment and other facilities of engineering and transport infrastructure.
Prevention from their harmful (dangerous) effects is ensured by observing the necessary breaks to residential areas (plots), buildings and structures for residential and civil purposes, as well as other mandatory requirements and restrictions in accordance with state regulatory documents. Communications and structures that have a direct harmful effect on human health and their environment during operation should be located outside populated areas.
2. The territories of engineering and transport infrastructure facilities should be landscaped taking into account the technical and operational characteristics of these facilities. The responsibilities for the improvement and maintenance of territories are assigned to the owners of engineering and transport infrastructure facilities and other persons in whose legitimate use they are.

This Code regulates public relations related to the implementation of architectural, urban planning and construction activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the formation of a full-fledged habitat and human activity, planning and development of settlements, interuniverse territories, ensuring the safety of construction sites at all stages of their life cycle.
