The jury trial in the interdistrict specialized criminal court and the specialized interdistrict military criminal court consists of one judge and ten jurors.
1. The composition of the court with the participation of jurors, provided for by the norm of Article 544 of the CPC, is optimal from the point of view of using the requirements of probability theory to the law of large numbers, which establishes that any set, as a rule, tends to an average value.
Taking into account the volume and complexity of the criminal cases under consideration, which are within the jurisdiction of the interdistrict specialized criminal courts and specialized interdistrict military criminal courts, and compliance with the principle of continuity in the judicial system, as well as the dissemination of experience in this form of legal proceedings, the law provided for at this stage of the development of the jury trial model, the participation of 1 professional a judge and ten jurors.
