        In accordance with subparagraph 2) of Article 44 K951000_ of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Article 69 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan Z952464_ "On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan" and in connection with the expiration of the constitutional term of office of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan elected in October 1997,

I decree:      

1. To appoint elections of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan for October 8, 2002.      

2. To establish that electoral events for the election of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan are held in accordance with the rules and within the time limits established by the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan Z952464_ "On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan".      

3. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, akims of regions and cities

Almaty and Astana should immediately take all necessary measures for organizational, logistical and financial support.
