On ratification of the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the conditions of mutual travel of Citizens dated July 7, 2000

      To ratify the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the conditions of mutual travel of Citizens dated July 7, 2000, made in Tashkent on December 22, 2022.

Protocol   on amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the conditions of mutual travel of citizens dated July 7, 2000    

     The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, hereinafter referred to as the Parties,

      Based on the provisions of Article 15 of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the conditions of Mutual Travel of Citizens dated July 7, 2000 (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement),

     in order to further develop friendly relations between the two countries and to legally regulate the travel of their citizens,

     Desiring to create favorable conditions for the stay of citizens of one State on the territory of another State,

     have agreed on the following:

Article 1

      In article 2 of the Agreement:

     The first paragraph should be worded as follows:

     "Citizens of the State of one Party, regardless of their permanent place of residence, enter, leave, transit, move through the territory of the State of the other Party, if their period of stay does not exceed 30 (thirty) calendar days from the moment of crossing the State Border of the State of the Party, for a total of 90 (ninety) calendar days during each period of 180 (one hundred eighty) calendar days without obtaining a temporary residence permit (temporary registration) based on the documents listed in Appendices No. 1 and No. 2 to this Protocol, certifying their identity and confirming their citizenship.";

     The second paragraph should be worded as follows:

     "If a citizen of the State of one Party stays in the territory of the State of the other Party for more than 30 (thirty) calendar days, the said citizen must obtain a temporary residence permit (temporary registration) from the competent authorities of the State of the Receiving Party in accordance with the legislation of the State of the Receiving Party.";

     Delete paragraphs three and four.

Article 2

      The first paragraph of Article 3 of the Agreement should be worded as follows:

     "The following persons are exempt from the procedure for obtaining a temporary residence permit (temporary registration):".

Article 3

 

      Article 4 of the Agreement should be worded as follows:

     "1. The passage across the State Border of citizens of the States of the Parties serving state facilities of one Party located on the territory of the State of the other Party, entering, leaving and staying in the territory of the State of the other Party to perform official duties, will be carried out on the basis of national passports and official certificates according to agreed lists.

     2. The list of facilities specified in paragraph 1 of this article will be determined through the exchange of notes through diplomatic channels within 30 (thirty) days from the date of signing this Agreement.".

Article 4

 

      Articles 5, 6, 7 should be deleted.

Article 5

      The first paragraph of Article 11 of the Agreement should be worded as follows:

     "Citizens of the State of one Party are obliged to comply with its legislation during their stay in the territory of the State of the other Party.".

Article 6

     Annexes No. 1 and No. 2 to the Agreement shall be amended in accordance with the annexes to this Protocol.

Article 7

     This Protocol shall enter into force on the date of receipt, through diplomatic channels, of the last written notification by the Parties on the completion of the internal procedures necessary for its entry into force.

     Done in Tashkent on December 22, 2022, in two copies, each in the Kazakh, Uzbek and Russian languages, all texts being equally authentic.

      In case of a discrepancy between the texts, the Parties refer to the text in Russian.

Appendix No. 1 to the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the conditions of mutual travel of Citizens      

List of documents for entry, exit and movement of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan  

     1. A diplomatic passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

     2. Official passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

     3. Passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

     4. Certificate of an aircraft crew member (while traveling as part of the crew).

     5. Certificate of return to the Republic of Kazakhstan (only for return to the Republic of Kazakhstan).

     6. The identity card of an employee of the intergovernmental courier service.

 

 

 

Appendix No. 2 to the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the conditions of mutual travel of Citizens  

List of documents for entry, exit and movement of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan  

     1. Biometric diplomatic passport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

     2. Biometric passport of a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

     3. Biometric passport of a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan for traveling abroad.

     4. Certificate of return to the Republic of Uzbekistan (only for return to the Republic of Uzbekistan).

     5. Certificate of an aircraft crew member (while traveling as part of the crew).

     6. The identity card of an employee of the intergovernmental courier service.
