To ratify the Protocol to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on checkpoints across the Kazakh-Uzbek State border dated November 16, 2001, signed in Astana on September 4, 2006.

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, hereinafter referred to as the Parties,
in order to coordinate international and bilateral checkpoints and their operating modes, contributing to the development of communication between the two countries,
Guided by article 1 of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Checkpoints across the Kazakh-Uzbek State Border dated November 16, 2001 (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement),
have agreed on the following:
Article 1
The Parties agreed on a list of international and bilateral checkpoints for crossing the Kazakh-Uzbek state border by persons and vehicles, moving goods, goods and animals (attached).
The opening hours of the checkpoints in the spring-summer and autumn-winter periods will be determined by the border representatives of the Parties.
The following terms are used by the Parties in the Protocol:
A bilateral (interstate) checkpoint is intended for border crossing only by citizens and vehicles of the States of the Parties.
An international (multilateral) checkpoint is used for crossing the state border by individuals, regardless of their nationality, and vehicles registered in the territories of the States of the parties and third countries.

Article 2
This Protocol is an integral part of the Agreement and shall enter into force on the date of receipt of the last written notification that the Parties have completed the internal procedures necessary for its entry into force.
This Protocol is valid until the termination of the Agreement.
Done in Astana on September 4, 2006, in two copies, each in the Kazakh, Uzbek and Russian languages, all texts being equally authentic.
In case of disagreement in the interpretation of the provisions of this Protocol, the Parties will refer to the text in Russian.
