In accordance with Article 2 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 10, 1993 "On the temporary delegation of additional powers to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and heads of local administrations", I decree: 1. To ratify the Agreement on the Foundations of Relations and Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Arab Republic of Egypt, signed in Cairo on February 14, 1993. 2. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of publication.

Agreement on the basis of Mutual relations and Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Arab Republic of Egypt

The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Arab Republic of Egypt, hereinafter referred to as the "Parties", wishing to develop cooperation and promote friendly relations based on the principle of mutual respect, reaffirming their commitment to the goals and principles stipulated in the UN Charter, bearing in mind that the existing closeness between the peoples of the two countries in the field of culture, history and tradition is the basis for strengthening mutual relations between the two countries, have agreed on the following:
Article 1 The Parties will contribute to strengthening mutual trust and developing cooperation between the countries in the fields of politics, economy, culture and trade.
Article 2 The Parties have agreed to hold consultations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Article 3 Considering the importance of trade and economic cooperation in the field of bilateral relations, the Parties will expand various forms of cooperation in the field of trade and economy and at the same time will encourage mutual investments.
Article 4 The Parties will help strengthen the bonds of friendship between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Egypt and, for these purposes, will assist in the expansion and deepening of mutual relations in the field of culture, information, science, technology, tourism, sports, as well as provide citizens of the other Side with access to the cultural heritage, archives, libraries and scientific and technical information of their peoples. in accordance with their national laws.
Article 5 The Parties agreed to exchange experience in the field of economics, science and technology.
Article 6 The Parties will facilitate the exchange of teachers, students and scientists, as well as exchange experience in training personnel in the field of economics, management and diplomacy within the framework of joint programs.
Article 7 The Parties will take the necessary measures to promote cooperation between public organizations, business circles, scientific and cultural societies and will promote the development of twinning ties between the cities.
Article 8 The Parties have agreed to assist each other in the protection of the historical and cultural heritage of both States, and will also promote the expansion of cooperation with international organizations in the field of culture and art.
Article 9 The Parties will promote the expansion of cooperation in the field of communications and information and conclude a separate agreement for this purpose.
Article 10 The provisions of this Agreement shall not affect the rights and obligations under existing bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements concluded by the Parties with other States.
Article 11 This Agreement shall enter into force after the completion of the relevant domestic procedures provided for by the legislation of the Parties and notification thereof to each of the Contracting Parties. The term of this Agreement may be terminated six months after written notification of this by one of the Parties.
Done in Cairo on February 14, 1993, in two copies: each in the Kazakh and Arabic languages, both texts being equally authentic.
