Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 12, 1993 No. 1400

In connection with the introduction of the national currency tenge into circulation in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I hereby decree:

     1. To complete the exchange of treasury and bank notes of the USSR State Bank and the Bank of Russia of the 1961-1992 model for tenge by 18:00 (local time) on November 20, 1993.

     To prohibit, from 08:00 (local time) on November 15, 1993, the circulation in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan of treasury and bank notes of the State Bank of the USSR and the Bank of Russia of the 1961-1992 model in denominations of 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 rubles.

     To prohibit, from 08:00 (local time) on November 18, 1993, the circulation of treasury and bank notes of the State Bank of the USSR and the Bank of Russia of the 1961-1992 model in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. dignity 1, 3, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 and 500 rubles.

     2. The State Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the introduction of the national currency, the heads of local administrations and law enforcement agencies to ensure the implementation of this Decree.
