Article 125-1. Forced marriage of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. Forcing a person to marry under threat of violence or destruction or damage to property, as well as through blackmail, including under threat of disclosure or dissemination of information that shames the victim or his relatives, or other information, the disclosure or dissemination of which may cause significant harm to the interests of the victim or his relatives, –
is punishable by a fine in the amount of up to two thousand monthly calculation indices, or correctional labor in the same amount, or restriction of liberty for up to two years, or imprisonment for the same term.
2. The same act committed by:
1) with the use of violence;
2) in relation to a person who is obviously a minor;
3) using the victim's material or other dependence;
4) a group of persons, a group of persons by prior agreement;
5) using his official position, –
is punishable by a fine in the amount of up to five thousand monthly calculation indices, or correctional labor in the same amount, or community service for up to one thousand two hundred hours, or restriction of liberty for a term of three to seven years, or imprisonment for the same term.
3. The acts provided for in the first or second parts of this article, if they have negligently entailed grave consequences, –
are punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.
