Article 517. Participation of the defender of the CPC RK Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. In the proceedings on the application of compulsory medical measures, the participation of a defender is mandatory from the moment the fact of insanity or mental disorder of the person against whom the proceedings are being conducted is established, unless the defender has previously entered into the case on other grounds.
2. From the moment of entering into the case, the defender has the right to meet with the defendant alone, if this is not prevented by the defendant's state of health, and also enjoys all other rights provided for in Article 66 of this Code.
