Article 7. The effect of the criminal law on persons who have committed a criminal offense in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan The Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
A person who has committed a criminal offense on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan is liable under this Code.
A criminal offense committed on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan is an act that has begun or continued or has been completed on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This Code also applies to criminal offenses committed on the continental shelf and in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A person who has committed a criminal offense on a ship assigned to a port of the Republic of Kazakhstan and located in open waters or airspace outside the Republic of Kazakhstan is subject to criminal liability under this Code, unless otherwise provided by an international treaty of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Under this Code, criminal liability is also borne by a person who has committed a criminal offense on a military ship or military aircraft of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regardless of its location.
The issue of criminal liability of diplomatic representatives of foreign States and other citizens who enjoy immunity in the event that these persons commit a criminal offense on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan is resolved in accordance with the norms of international law.
