Article 259. Provision of items and documents to the person conducting the pre-trial investigation on the initiative of the persons in possession of them CPC RK Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. The parties, as well as other persons, managers and other officials of enterprises, institutions, organizations, have the right to provide the person conducting the pre-trial investigation with items and documents that, in their opinion, may be relevant to the case.

     2. The person conducting the pre-trial investigation is obliged to inspect the provided object or document in accordance with the rules of Article 220 of this Code and accept it if there are grounds to believe that the object or document is or may be relevant to the case in the future. Items and documents that are not relevant to the case, but have been withdrawn from circulation, must also be accepted.

     If an item or document is provided that is not relevant to the case and has not been withdrawn from circulation, the person conducting the pre-trial investigation returns the item or document according to its affiliation immediately after inspection.
