Article 142. Historical pollution of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. Historical pollution is the accumulated environmental damage caused to waters and (or) lands, which arose as a result of previous activities, including the combined effects of various types of anthropogenic activities, the obligations to eliminate which were not fulfilled or were not fully fulfilled.
2. Historical pollution objects are territories and water areas or their individual sections where historical pollution has been identified, as well as ownerless capital construction and waste storage or disposal facilities that are a source of historical pollution.
