Article 18. Compensation for losses and moral damage, terms of amendment of the tourist service agreement of the Law on Tourism Activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. Compensation for losses and moral damage to tourists is carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. A person engaged in tourism activities is not responsible for damage suffered by a tourist during a trip as a result of force majeure.
3. A person engaged in tourism activities, when transporting passengers by any type of transport, is obliged to issue to the tourist an individual or group (when servicing a tourist group) transportation document (ticket) containing the names of departure and destination points, the basic rights and obligations of passengers.
4. A person engaged in tourism activities is obliged, at his own expense, to notify the family of the tourist in writing about an emergency with the tourist.
5. Responsibility for the transportation of cargo not provided for weighing, its safety lies with the tourist. If a person engaged in tourist activities has issued a ticket, baggage receipt or consignment note for the accepted cargo, but they are incorrectly issued or lost, or they cannot be presented for any other reason, the contract of carriage remains in force.
6. In case of changes in the circumstances stipulated by the agreement and the need for significant changes in the terms of the agreement, the person engaged in tourism activities is obliged to immediately inform the tourist in writing about the nature of such changes and possible consequences.

This Law defines the legal, economic, social, and organizational foundations of tourism activity as one of the sectors of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
