Article 616. Contract of the Civil Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. Under the contract, one party (contractor) undertakes to perform certain work on behalf of the other party (customer) and deliver its result to the customer within the prescribed period, and the customer undertakes to accept the result of the work and pay for it (pay the price of the work). The work is performed at the contractor's risk, unless otherwise provided by legislation or contract.
2. Unless otherwise stipulated in the contract, the contractor independently determines the ways to fulfill the customer's assignment.
3. The provisions provided for in this paragraph shall apply to certain types of contract (household contract, construction contract, contract for design or survey work, contract for research, development and technological work), unless otherwise established by the rules of this Code on contracts of these types.
4. Relations under certain types of work contracts may be regulated, along with this Code, also by legislative acts on certain types of work contracts.
