Article 27. Retention of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the child in case of adoption of the Law on Citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan

      A child who is a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, adopted by foreigners, retains the citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan until he comes of age.  

     The loss or renunciation of the citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the child named in this article is allowed only after reaching the age of majority and upon his voluntary expression.

     The footnote. Article 27 as amended by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/09/2016 No. 501-V (effective after ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication); as amended by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/16/2018 No. 147-VI (effective after ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).  

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 20, 1991 1017-XII. This Law regulates the issues of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
