The following basic concepts are used in this Law:

1) a person endowed with the rights of a victim is the legal representatives and representatives of the victim, legal successors in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.;

2) Compensation Fund for Victims – a cash control account opened in the central authorized body for budget execution for crediting money receipts and paying compensation to victims in accordance with the procedure provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Compensation Fund for Victims;

3) compensation is a one-time payment of money in accordance with the procedure established by this Law to a person recognized as a victim in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.;

4) recourse claims are measures taken by the prosecutor's office in relation to the persons referred to in Article 11 of this Law to ensure the return of money paid to victims as compensation.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 10, 2018 No. 131-VI SAM.

This Law defines the legal, economic, social and organizational bases aimed at ensuring the payment of compensation to victims of certain types of criminal offenses.
