Article 285. Interrogation of an expert and specialist of the CPC RK Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. The interrogation of an expert or specialist is carried out in order to:
1) clarification of issues related to the expert's or specialist's opinion that are essential to the case and do not require additional research;
2) clarifications of the methods used by the expert and the specialist and the terms used;
3) receiving information about other facts and circumstances that are not an integral part of the conclusion, but are related to the participation of an expert or specialist in the pre-trial process;
4) clarifying the qualifications of an expert or specialist.
2. The interrogation of an expert and a specialist is conducted in accordance with the rules of Article 210 of this Code.
3. It is prohibited to interrogate an expert or specialist before they give an opinion.
4. An expert may not be questioned about circumstances unrelated to his conclusion that have become known to him in connection with the conduct of a forensic psychiatric, as well as forensic medical examination of living persons.
