The work of employees who are not civil servants and who carry out environmental protection and forest protection activities is regulated by this Code with the specifics provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Employees engaged in environmental protection and forest protection activities working in rural areas are provided with at least twenty-five percent higher official salaries and tariff rates compared to salaries and rates of employees engaged in these types of activities in urban environments, unless otherwise established by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The list of positions of employees who are not civil servants in the field of forestry and specially protected natural territories working in rural areas is determined by the authorized state body for labor, the authorized body in the field of forestry and specially protected natural territories in coordination with the central authorized body for budget planning.
