Article 164. Environmental monitoring of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. Environmental monitoring is an activity involving observation, collection, storage, accounting, systematization, generalization, processing and analysis of data, assessment of the state of environmental pollution, production of information on the state of environmental pollution, including predictive information, and provision of this information to government agencies, other individuals and legal entities.
Information on the state of environmental pollution is the primary data obtained as a result of monitoring the state of the environment, as well as information resulting from the processing and analysis of such primary data.
Environmental monitoring is carried out on a regular and/or periodic basis in order to collect data on the pollution status of individual environmental protection facilities.
2. The producers of information on the state of the environment are the National Hydrometeorological Service, legal entities, as well as individual entrepreneurs who produce information on the state of environmental pollution.
