Article 250. Renunciation of the right of ownership of the Civil Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
A citizen or a legal entity may renounce ownership of his property by declaring it verbally or in writing, or by committing other actions (inaction) that clearly indicate his removal from possession, use and disposal of property without intending to retain any rights to this property.
The renunciation of the right of ownership must be lawful, voluntary and indicating that the owner refuses to own, use, dispose of the property.
The renunciation of the right of ownership is the will of the owner. The State and its bodies have no right to renounce ownership rights, except in cases prescribed by law.
Renunciation of the right of ownership does not entail the termination of the rights and obligations of the owner in relation to the relevant property until the acquisition of ownership of the property by another person.
