Article 30. The procedure for conducting an expert examination of the Law on Trademarks, Service Marks, Geographical Indications and Names of Places of Origin of Goods
1. An expert organization shall conduct an expert examination within three months from the date of filing an application for a geographical indication or an application for an appellation of origin, during which their compliance with the requirements established by Articles 26, 27 and 29 of this Law is verified.
2. During the examination, the expert organization has the right to request additional materials, which must be submitted within three months from the date of sending the request to the applicant.
At the request of the applicant, this period may be extended by no more than six months, provided that the application has been received before the deadline for submitting a response to the request.
If the applicant fails to submit additional materials or requests for an extension of the specified period within the prescribed period, the office work is terminated and the application is considered withdrawn.

This Law regulates relations arising in connection with the registration, legal protection and use of trademarks, service marks, geographical indications and names of places of origin of goods in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
