Article 14-1. Requirements for activities related to the testing of varietal crops of agricultural plants and the examination of varietal and seed qualities of seeds of the Law on Seed Production

1. Individuals, in order to carry out activities on the approbation of varietal crops of agricultural plants and the examination of varietal and sowing qualities of seeds, submit copies of documents confirming:

1) higher or post–secondary education in the following specialties: agronomy, horticulture, soil science and agrochemistry, plant protection and quarantine – for approbators, agronomy, horticulture, processing technology (agriculture), standardization and certification (agriculture) - for seed experts;

2) special training (approbator courses - for approbators);

3) information about work or internship (at least two months) in the laboratory for the examination of seed quality (for seed experts).

2. Approbators and/or seed experts must meet the following requirements:

1) for approbators, the availability of:

higher or post-secondary education in the following specialties: agronomy, horticulture, soil science and agrochemistry, plant protection and quarantine;

special training document (approbator courses);

2) for seed experts, the availability of:

higher or post-secondary education in the following specialties: agronomy, fruit and vegetable growing, technology of processing industries (agriculture), standardization and certification (agriculture);

a document of employment or internship (at least two months) in the laboratory for the examination of the quality of seeds and planting materials.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 8, 2003 No. 385.

This Law defines the legal, economic and organizational bases for carrying out activities in the field of seed production and is aimed at regulating the organization and functioning of the seed production system and state control over the production, harvesting, processing, storage, transportation, sale and use of seeds of agricultural plants.
