Article 2-1.      1. The legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the procedure and conditions of detention of persons in special institutions, special premises providing temporary isolation from society, is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, consists of this Law and other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

     2. International treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan have priority over this Law. The procedure and conditions of operation in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan of international treaties to which the Republic of Kazakhstan is a party are determined by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 30, 1999 No. 353-I.

     This Law defines the legal basis for the activities of special institutions and special premises that legally provide temporary isolation from society, as well as establishes the rights and obligations of the persons contained therein.
