Article 235. Development of medicines and medical products Code on the Health of the People and the Healthcare System of the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. The development of medicines includes the search and (or) creation of new active substances or their new combinations, the subsequent study of pharmacological properties, pharmaceutical development, preclinical (non-clinical) and clinical research, as well as the development of technologies for the industrial production of medicines.

     2. The development of medicines is carried out in compliance with the requirements of appropriate pharmaceutical practices that ensure their safety and effectiveness.

     3. The development of medical devices includes the search and (or) creation of a technical solution, the invention, design, construction and testing of prototypes, as well as the development of technologies for the industrial production of medical devices.

     4. The development of medical devices is carried out in compliance with the requirements of international standards that ensure their safety and effectiveness.

     5. The rights of the developer of the medicinal product and medical device are protected by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
