The legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on state secrets is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan, and consists of this Law and other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan regulating relations in the field of protection of state secrets.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 15, 1999 N 349-1.

This Law defines the legal framework and a unified system for the protection of state secrets in the interests of ensuring the national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regulates public relations arising in connection with the classification of information as state secrets, their classification, disposal, protection and declassification.
