Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

1) ensures the enforcement of the legislation on state secrets of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 28, 2017 No. 128-VI (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication);

3) approves the Instructions for the protection of State secrets of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

4) establishes the procedure for the development of departmental lists of information subject to secrecy;

5) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 07/03/2013 No. 124-V (effective after ten calendar days after its first official publication);

6) determines the procedure for logistical and financial support for the protection of state secrets;

7) approves the procedure for classifying government agencies and organizations as high-security, high-security and specially protected facilities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as approves lists of territories temporarily closed to foreigners.;

8) determines the procedure for the organization, functioning and liquidation of units for the protection of state secrets;

9) concludes intergovernmental agreements, ensures the execution of international treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the sharing and protection of information constituting state secrets, decides on the transfer of state secrets and their carriers to foreign states and (or) international organizations and determines the procedure for their transfer;

10) establishes the procedure for determining the amount of damage that has been caused or may be caused to the national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan or the interests of state bodies and organizations as a result of disclosure or loss of information constituting state secrets, as well as damage caused to the owner of information carriers as a result of their secrecy;

11) approves the procedure for special verification of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in connection with their access to state secrets;

12) performs other functions assigned to him by the Constitution, laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 15, 1999 N 349-1.

This Law defines the legal framework and a unified system for the protection of state secrets in the interests of ensuring the national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regulates public relations arising in connection with the classification of information as state secrets, their classification, disposal, protection and declassification.
