Article 4. State Secrets Protection Bodies of the Law on State Secrets
1. The bodies protecting state secrets include:
authorized state body for the protection of State secrets of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
The National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its bodies;
government agencies and organizations, their structural divisions for the protection of state secrets.
2. The State secrets protection authorities ensure the protection of information constituting State secrets in accordance with their assigned tasks and within their competence. The responsibility for organizing the protection of information constituting state secrets in government agencies and organizations lies with their leaders. Depending on the scope of work using information constituting state secrets, the heads of state bodies and organizations create structural units for the protection of state secrets, the functions of which are determined by these heads, taking into account the specifics of their work in accordance with regulatory legal acts approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
3. The protection of state secrets is one of the main activities of a government agency and organization.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 15, 1999 N 349-1.
This Law defines the legal framework and a unified system for the protection of state secrets in the interests of ensuring the national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regulates public relations arising in connection with the classification of information as state secrets, their classification, disposal, protection and declassification.
