Article 3. Relations regulated by the marriage and family legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the Marriage (Matrimony) and Family Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Marriage and family legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
1) establishes the rights and obligations, property and personal non-property relations between family members: spouses, parents and children, and in cases and within the limits provided for by the marriage and family legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, between other relatives and other persons;
2) establishes the conditions and procedure for marriage (matrimony), termination of marriage (matrimony) and its recognition as invalid;
3) determines the forms and order of placement in the family of orphaned children, children left without parental care;
4) regulates the procedure for state registration of acts of civil status;
5) defines the functions of the bodies that carry out the state registration of acts of civil status.
