Article 50. Social security of citizens discharged from military service The Law on Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel
1. Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who have been discharged from military service upon reaching the maximum age for military service, due to health reasons, or who have contracted a disease while performing their military duties, as well as those who have served for 20 years or more, are provided with medical care at military medical institutions (organizations) at the expense of budget funds; those who have served for 25 years or more are provided with sanatorium‑resort treatment if there are indications according to the list of diseases determined by the authorized body in the field of healthcare, in coordination with the senior officials of the relevant authorized state bodies.
1-1. Payment for the services of military medical institutions (organizations, units) providing medical care to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan specified in paragraph 1 of this article is made by the social health insurance fund.
1) within the guaranteed volume of free medical care in accordance with the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the Health of the Population and the Healthcare System”;2) within the system of compulsory social health insurance in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Compulsory Social Health Insurance”..
In the absence of military medical institutions (organizations, units) at the place of residence of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan specified in paragraph 1 of this article, or corresponding departments within them, specialists, or special equipment, medical care is provided by healthcare entities based on medical indications:1) within the guaranteed volume of free medical care in accordance with the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the Health of the Population and the Healthcare System”;2) within the system of compulsory social health insurance in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Compulsory Social Health Insurance”..
Payment for the services provided by healthcare entities in providing the medical care specified in subparagraphs 1) and 2) of part two of this clause is made by the social health insurance fund.
2. Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan specified in paragraph 1 of this article are provided with social adaptation upon discharge from the Armed Forces, including for the purpose of acquiring civilian professions during their military service.
For the purpose of social adaptation of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan discharged from military service, the Ministry of Defense, in coordination with the authorized bodies in the field of education, science, and higher education, develops and approves educational programs for pedagogical retraining.
Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who are dismissed or discharged from military service (with the exception of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who were dismissed for negative reasons without the right to re-enroll in military service), who served as officers, senior or higher sergeants, who have higher and (or) postgraduate education and at least ten years of service.
3. Persons discharged from military service (with the exception of those discharged due to the termination of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, upon refusal to undergo a special review, for negative reasons, or due to professional inadequacy identified as a result of an assessment) have the right to travel at the expense of budget funds by rail, road, and inland water transport to the place of military registration or to the chosen place of residence within the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Persons dismissed from military service (excluding those dismissed from compulsory military service, in connection with the termination of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, upon refusal to undergo a special review, for negative reasons, or due to professional inadequacy identified as a result of an assessment) are paid compensation at the expense of the state for the transportation of their own property within the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the rate of one monthly calculation index for every twenty kilometers of the road.
This clause applies to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who were discharged from military service after June 13, 2017, with the exception of military reservists.sts.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of military service by citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and defines the foundations of the state policy on social security for military personnel.
