The following basic concepts are used in this Law:

1) victim - an individual in respect of whom there is reason to believe that moral, physical and (or) property harm has been caused to him directly by domestic violence;

1-1) assistance organizations – legal entities providing special social services and (or) assistance to victims in accordance with this Law;

2) family and household relations – relations between spouses, former spouses, persons living or living together, close relatives, persons having a common child (children);

3) domestic violence is an intentional unlawful act (action or omission) of one person in the sphere of family and household relations in relation to another (others), causing or containing a threat of causing physical and (or) mental suffering.;

4) prevention of domestic violence is a set of legal, economic, social and organizational measures implemented by subjects of the prevention of domestic violence aimed at protecting the constitutional rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of a person and citizen in the field of family and domestic relations, preventing and suppressing domestic violence, as well as identifying and eliminating the causes and conditions contributing to them. the commission;

5) subjects of the prevention of domestic violence - state bodies, local governments, organizations and citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who carry out the prevention of domestic violence.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 4, 2009 No. 214-IV.

This Law defines the legal, economic, social and organizational bases of the activities of state bodies, local governments, organizations and citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the prevention of domestic violence.
