Internal affairs agencies:

1) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 07/03/2013 No. 124-V (effective after ten calendar days after its first official publication);

2) participate in the development of draft normative legal acts in the field of prevention of domestic violence;

3) implement measures to prevent domestic violence;

4) identify parents or persons replacing them who are not fulfilling or improperly fulfilling the duties of raising children who commit illegal acts against them;

5) keep preventive records and carry out preventive control;

6) consider statements and reports about the facts of domestic violence or the threat of their commission on site and take measures to prevent them;

7) at the request of victims, they are referred to relief organizations or healthcare organizations.;

8) conduct a preventive conversation;

9) deliver the person who committed domestic violence to the internal affairs bodies;

10) issue a protective order;

11) apply to the prosecutor for authorization to extend the period of validity of the protective order;

12) carry out administrative detention;

13) petition the court to establish special requirements for the behavior of a person who has committed domestic violence;

14) carry out criminal prosecution, proceedings on cases of administrative offenses;

15) apply measures of criminal procedural coercion;

16) apply criminal law security measures for the victim;

17) ensure the organization of special training courses on the prevention of domestic violence for law enforcement officers.

This Law defines the legal, economic, social and organizational bases of the activities of state bodies, local governments, organizations and citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the prevention of domestic violence.
