1. The purpose of state control in the field of protection and use of objects of historical and cultural heritage is to ensure compliance by individuals and legal entities with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the protection and use of objects of historical and cultural heritage.

State control in the field of protection and use of objects of historical and cultural heritage is carried out by the authorized body and local executive bodies of regions, cities of republican significance, the capital, cities of regional significance with a special status in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. The state control in the sphere of protection and use of objects of historical and cultural heritage, carried out by the authorized body, includes control over:

1) the use and maintenance of historical and cultural monuments of international and national importance;

2) the installation of monumental art structures;

3) carrying out archaeological and scientific restoration work on historical and cultural monuments of international and national importance.

3. State control in the field of protection and use of objects of historical and cultural heritage, carried out by local executive bodies of regions, cities of republican significance, the capital, cities of regional significance with a special status, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, includes control over:

1) the use and maintenance of historical and cultural monuments of local importance;

2) carrying out scientific and restoration work on historical and cultural monuments of local significance and archaeological work, with the exception of work on historical and cultural monuments of international and national significance.

4. State control in the field of protection and use of objects of historical and cultural heritage is carried out in the form of inspections and preventive control with a visit to the subject (object) of control in accordance with the Business Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
