Historical and cultural monuments located on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and not belonging to other entities are the property of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Republic of Kazakhstan may acquire ownership rights to historical and cultural monuments that constitute the historical and cultural heritage of the people of Kazakhstan and have historical and cultural value under agreements with their owners.

On behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the powers of the owner for historical and cultural monuments of international and national significance are exercised by an authorized body, and for historical and cultural monuments of local significance – by local executive bodies of regions, cities of republican significance, and the capital.
