Authorized body for the protection and use of Historical and Cultural Heritage sites:

1) creates conditions for the implementation of measures for the research, study and popularization of the spiritual and cultural heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi;

2) coordinates projects of scientific and restoration work on historical and cultural monuments, economic and other activities in the territories of historical and cultural monuments located on the territory of the city of Turkestan, and in their protected areas;

3) creates conditions for the preservation of historical and cultural monuments in the territory of the city of Turkestan;

4) approves the draft general plan and other urban planning documentation of the city of Turkestan;

5) develops and approves the rules for the creation of a reserve of archaeological monuments of the city of Turkestan and the conditions of their maintenance;

6) exercise other powers provided for by this Law, other laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law regulates the legal basis of the special status of the city of Turkestan and is aimed at its preservation, study and promotion as a unique heritage.
