Article 4. Objects of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Law on the Protection and Use of Objects of Historical and Cultural Heritage

      1. Identified objects of historical and cultural heritage are included in the list of preliminary registration by local executive bodies of regions, cities of republican significance, and the capital, and until a final decision is made on their status, they are subject to protection on an equal basis with historical and cultural monuments in accordance with this Law.  

     2. The entry into the State List of Historical and Cultural Monuments of objects of historical and cultural heritage included in the list of preliminary registration, or their exclusion from the list of preliminary registration, is carried out by the relevant state bodies within three years from the date of their entry into the list of preliminary registration.

     3. The period specified in paragraph 2 of this Article may be extended by local executive bodies of oblasts, cities of republican significance, and the capital for a period not exceeding two years.

     4. Objects of historical and cultural heritage acquire the status of historical and cultural monuments from the date of their inclusion in the State List of Historical and Cultural Monuments of National or Local Significance.
