Article 135. Notification of the suspect's relatives about the detention CPC RK Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan

     The person conducting the pre-trial investigation is obliged to immediately notify one of the adult members of his family, and in their absence, other relatives or close persons, about the arrest of the suspect and his location, or to provide the opportunity for such notification to the suspect himself. The embassy, consulate or other representative office of this State must also be notified of the detention of a foreigner immediately, and if it is not possible within twenty-four hours, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the procedure established by a joint order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
