Article 22-1. Ichthyological observations of the Law on the Protection, Reproduction and Use of Wildlife
1. Ichthyological observations are conducted by the territorial divisions of the department of the authorized body in the field of fisheries.
2. The main directions of ichthyological observations are: monitoring the state of fishery reservoirs; conducting control fishing; collecting biological materials on the state of ichthyofauna; studying migration routes, spawning periods and fishing load on reservoirs; determining by-catch of juvenile fish, spawning grounds and wintering pits; development of proposals for regulating the fishing regime, including postponing the prohibition period to the spawning period, depending on hydrometeorological conditions, fishing gear, organization of fish farming and reclamation works and fisheries reclamation of water bodies; accounting for hazardous reservoirs and organization of measures for the prevention and elimination of blockages; inspection of water intake, discharge facilities and determination of damage caused and inflicted fish resources and other aquatic animals in the absence of fish protection devices.
3. Data from ichthyological observations are used to prepare recommendations for the organization of protection, reproduction and sustainable use of fish resources and other aquatic animals.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of protection, reproduction and use of wildlife, as well as the conservation and reproduction of Kazakh dog breeds and is aimed at ensuring conditions for the conservation of wildlife and its biological diversity, sustainable use of wildlife in order to meet environmental, economic, aesthetic and other human needs, taking into account the interests of present and future generations..
