Article 55. State Protection of Wildlife of the Law on the Protection, Reproduction and Use of Wildlife

1. The State Protection of Wildlife of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the State protection of wildlife) consists of employees of specialized organizations for the protection of wildlife responsible for the protection, reproduction and use of wildlife.

2. The state protection of the animal world is granted the right to perform the duties assigned to it.:

1) to check the documents of individuals and legal entities for the right to hunt and (or) fish;

2) to draw up protocols on administrative offences in the field of protection, reproduction and use of wildlife in accordance with the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offences;

3) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 05/24/2018 No. 156-VI (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication);

4) to carry out, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stopping and inspection of vehicles, other objects and places, and, if necessary, personal inspection of detained persons;

5) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 05/24/2018 No. 156-VI (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication);

6) to wear uniforms with insignia (without shoulder straps) and service weapons in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

6-1) for the storage, carrying and use of special equipment and service weapons in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

7) detain and bring to law enforcement agencies persons who have committed offenses in the field of protection, reproduction and use of wildlife;

8) to seize firearms and mining implements from individuals and legal entities used in violation of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of protection, reproduction and use of wildlife, prohibited types of mining implements, illegally extracted objects of wildlife, their derivatives, as well as products of their vital activity and resolve the issue of their further ownership in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

3. The state protection of wildlife is obliged to:

1) to prevent and suppress offenses in the field of protection, reproduction and use of wildlife;

2) send information, claims and other materials on violations of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of protection, reproduction and use of wildlife to the authorized body, the authorized body in the field of fisheries and law enforcement agencies, the court.

3) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 28.10.2019 No. 268-VI (effective after ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication); 4) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 28.10.2019 No. 268-VI (effective after ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication);

5) take measures to combat illegal, unreported, unregulated fishing, as well as illegal trafficking in products made from aquatic biological resources.

4. -Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 19, 2026 No. 317-VIII SAM, officials of the state protection of wildlife are allowed to keep, carry and use special equipment and service weapons in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

5. Officials of the state protection of wildlife, in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, are provided with uniforms with insignia (without shoulder straps).

6. The activities of the state protection of wildlife are determined by the Regulations on the State Protection of Wildlife, approved by the authorized body.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of protection, reproduction and use of wildlife, as well as the conservation and reproduction of Kazakh dog breeds and is aimed at ensuring conditions for the conservation of wildlife and its biological diversity, sustainable use of wildlife in order to meet environmental, economic, aesthetic and other human needs, taking into account the interests of present and future generations..
