Article 27. Inspection of vehicles, cargo and personal belongings of citizens of the Law On Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, Their Analogues and Precursors and Measures to Counteract their Illicit Trafficking and Abuse
1. Inspection of the vehicle, cargo contained therein, personal belongings of the driver and passengers may be carried out by authorized officials of state bodies (divisions of state bodies) in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. If substances are identified that are suspected to be narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors and need further investigation, as well as if the driver or passengers have signs of drug intoxication, transport and these persons may be taken to law enforcement agencies to clarify the necessary circumstances.
3. In case of unjustified inspection of the transport, cargo, driver and passengers in it, as well as unjustified delivery of these persons and vehicles to law enforcement agencies, such persons have the right to compensation in full for the material and moral damage caused to them in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law regulates the legal basis of state policy in the sphere of trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors and establishes measures to counteract their illicit trafficking in order to provide drug treatment and protect the health of citizens, public and state security.
