Article 34. Compulsory treatment of persons with mental and behavioral disorders (diseases) related to the use of psychoactive substances of the Law on Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, Their Analogues and Precursors and Measures to Counteract their Illicit Trafficking and Abuse
Issues of compulsory treatment of persons with mental and behavioral disorders (diseases) related to the use of psychoactive substances who evade voluntary treatment, the procedure for recognizing a person with mental and behavioral disorders (diseases) related to the use of psychoactive substances, and the grounds for referring him for treatment to an organization providing medical assistance in the field of mental health, the basis and procedure for termination of compulsory medical treatment, registration of persons with mental and behavioral disorders (diseases), related to the use of psychoactive substances, and the procedure for conducting supportive treatment are regulated by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 10, 1998 No. 279.
This Law regulates the legal basis of state policy in the sphere of trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors and establishes measures to counteract their illicit trafficking in order to provide drug treatment and protect the health of citizens, public and state security.
