Article 297-1. Illegal manufacture, processing, and production for the sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogues of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. Illegal manufacture and processing for the sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogues –

     are punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with confiscation of property.

     2. The same acts committed in relation to narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogues on a large scale, –

     are punishable by imprisonment for a term of six to twelve years with confiscation of property.

     3. The acts provided for in the first or second parts of this Article, committed:

     1) by a group of persons by prior agreement;

     2) repeatedly;

     3) in relation to narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogues on an especially large scale, –

     are punishable by imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years with confiscation of property.

     4. The acts provided for in the first, second or third parts of this article, committed by a criminal group or an official using his official position, as well as the illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogues –

     are punishable by imprisonment for a term of fifteen to twenty years or by life imprisonment, with confiscation of property.
