1. The objectives of the penal enforcement legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan are the restoration of social justice, the correction of convicts, and the prevention of the commission of new criminal offenses by both convicts and other persons.

2. In accordance with these goals, the objectives of the penal enforcement legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan are:

1) regulation of the procedure and conditions for the execution and serving of sentences and other measures of criminal legal impact;

2) determination of the means of correction of convicts;

3) protection of the rights and freedoms of convicts;

4) providing assistance to convicts in social adaptation.

3. The execution of punishments and other measures of criminal legal impact is not intended to cause physical suffering or humiliation of human dignity.
