About military symbols of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 18, 1996 No. 3068.
In order to establish the military symbols of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I hereby decree:
1. To establish that the military symbols of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan are:
1) flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Land Forces, Air Force, Air Defense Forces and Naval Forces);
2) battle flags of military units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
3) The Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. Approve:
1) image and description of the flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan (schematic, color image and description text are attached);
2) image and description of the military unit's Battle Banner (schematic, color image and description text are attached);
3) image of the Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan (schematic, color image attached);
4) Regulations on the Military unit's Battle Banner (attached).
3. Establish that:
1) the production of flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, battle flags of military units and the Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out with the appropriate license issued in accordance with the procedure established by law.;
2) citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as persons residing in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, are obliged to honor the flags of the Armed Forces, the battle banners of military units and the Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
3) soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as citizens called up for military training, are obliged to honor the flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the battle banners of military units and the Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, selflessly and courageously defend the battle banners in battle and prevent their capture by the enemy;
4) persons guilty of desecrating the flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the battle flags of military units and the Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan are liable in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
4. Determine that:
1) the flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan are a rectangular panel with an image of the sun with rays in its center, under which there is a soaring eagle. Images of the sun, rays and an eagle are gold-colored;
2) the flags of the Ground Forces and Air Defense forces are blue, on the flag of the Ground Forces on the left from the front and on the right from the reverse side in the upper corner is a five-pointed red star, on the Flag of the Air Defense Forces on the left from the front and on the right from the reverse side in the upper corner in a rectangle with the aspect ratio to The size of the panel is 1:3 - a rectangle with a five-pointed red star in the center with white rays radiating from it.;
3) the banner of the Air Force Flag is blue, in the upper part of which there is a symmetrical horizontal image of white rays, on the left from the front side and on the right from the reverse side in the upper corner of the banner there is a five-pointed red star.;
4) the Flag of the Navy is symmetrically blue-white horizontally, with a five-pointed red star and a light blue anchor in the upper corner of the panel on the front left and on the reverse side on the right.;
5) the ratio of the width of the flags of the Armed Forces to its length is 1:2;
6) flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and their images, regardless of size, must correspond exactly to the color and schematic representation of the standards of flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stored at the headquarters of the Armed Forces.
5. Establish that:
1) flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan are raised or installed (taken out): on the buildings of the headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the headquarters of their subordinate units; in the offices of the commanders of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan; on warships and ships of the Republic of Kazakhstan - in accordance with military regulations; in military formations and units of the Armed Forces - when taking the oath; at solemn meetings dedicated to public holidays; at parades of troops;
2) general military regulations of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan or regulations of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan may provide for other cases of mandatory carrying of flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
3) on the occasion of national mourning, the flags of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan are lowered to half the height of the flagpole during the period of national mourning.
6. Determine that the military unit's Battle Flag is a rectangular blue cloth measuring 145 cm long and 115 cm wide, lined on three sides with golden silk fringe. The National Coat of Arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan is embroidered on the front side of the banner, above it is the inscription "Kazakhstan Republicasy", and along the lower edge is the motto "Otan Ushin". On the reverse side of the cloth is embroidered a five-pointed star with a contour of the sun with rays located in the center, under which there is a soaring eagle. The motto "Mindet: abyroy, yerlik" is embroidered on the upper edge of the cloth, and the name of the military unit is on the lower edge. The image of the State Coat of Arms, the sun, rays and inscriptions are gold in color, and the five-pointed star is the color of bordeaux.
7. To establish that the Order of storage, maintenance and removal of the Battle Banner is determined by the general military regulations of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
8. Determine that the Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan is an image of a five-pointed star with a contour of the sun and rays in the center, under which is a soaring eagle. The color image shows the Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan in two colors: red-maroon and gold. The reproduced image of the Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regardless of its size, must exactly correspond to the color or black-and-white image of the standard Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stored in the building of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
9. Establish that:
1) the image of the Symbol of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan is placed on the buildings of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, associations, formations, units, military educational institutions and institutions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan; in the office of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the meeting rooms of the Board of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and military councils branches of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the assembly halls of officers' houses and soldiers' clubs;

10. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan should develop and implement on an ongoing basis a set of measures to promote the military symbols of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to form a respectful attitude among citizens and military personnel towards the military symbols of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
11. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan should bring the requirements of the general military regulations and its orders in line with this Decree.
12. This Decree comes into force from the date of signing.

The flag of the Army consists of a cloth, a shaft and a cord.
The Flag cloth is rectangular, measuring 2 m in length and 1 m in width, and is made of blue silk faye. In the center of the cloth, the contours of the sun with rays and a soaring eagle are sewn with golden silk from the front and back. The center of the sun's disk is located at a distance of 45 cm from the upper edge of the panel. The image size is 65 cm in height and 75 cm in width. The Flag's shaft is wooden, circular in cross section, with a diameter of 4 cm. The shaft is painted dark brown, varnished and has a metal ring at the lower end, and a golden-colored shaped tip at the upper end.
The cord of the Flag is twisted, made of golden silk, with two tassels at the edges. The cord length is 270-285 cm.

The battle flag of the military unit of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan consists of a double-sided cloth, a shaft and a cord with tassels.

Depending on the number of words included in the name of the military unit, the size of the numbers can be reduced to 6 cm, and the size of the letters to 4.5 cm. In this case, the image of the star can be moved up from the center of the Banner of the Battle Banner to a distance of up to 12 cm.
On the left side of the panel there is a hole for threading it onto the shaft, the diameter of the hole is 4 cm.
The banner's shaft is wooden, circular in cross section, 4 cm in diameter, 2.5 m long. The shaft is painted dark brown, varnished and has a metal ring at the lower end, and a golden-colored shaped tip at the upper end.

About the Battle Banner of a military unit
1. The battle flag of the military unit of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a symbol of military unit, valor and glory, it is a reminder to every serviceman of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan of his sacred duty to faithfully serve his Homeland, to defend it courageously and skillfully, to defend every inch of his land from the enemy, not sparing his blood and life itself.
2. The battle flag is awarded to a military unit upon its formation on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan by a representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
3. The military unit retains the battle flag for the entire time, regardless of the change in the name and numbering of the military unit. Changes in the name and numbering of the military unit are recorded in the Diploma of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, issued at the presentation of the Battle Banner.
4. The battle Flag is always with its military unit, and on the battlefield - in the combat area.
5. All personnel of a military unit are obliged to selflessly and
courageously defend the Battle Flag in battle and prevent its capture

In case of loss of the Battle Banner, the commander of the military unit and

the court, and the military unit disbandment.
6. The naval flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan, raised on
