Article 6. Powers of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of defense The Law on Defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
1) adopts laws on the issues of ensuring the defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, introduces amendments and additions to them;
2) resolves issues of war and peace;
3) adopt, on the proposal of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a decision on the use of the Armed Forces to fulfill international obligations to maintain peace and security;
4) establishes military ranks;
5) Ratifies and denounces international treaties on defense and military cooperation;
6) holds parliamentary hearings on defense and Armed Forces issues.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 7, 2005 No. 29.
This Law regulates public relations in the field of organization of defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the functions and powers of state bodies in ensuring the country's defense capability, the rights and obligations of citizens and organizations in the field of defense.
